You may have confessed, prayed, installed filters, made promises, joined a group, or asked someone to hold you accountable. Those are good things, but when the same pattern keeps returning, you need a better approach- one that is tailored for your unique situation.
Lasting change requires understanding what drives the behavior, learning how to respond differently to temptation and distress, addressing secrecy and isolation, and developing a structured plan for spiritual, emotional, and relational growth.
Many counselors who offer treatment for sexual addiction don't actually have specialized training in it. As a Sexual Recovery Pastoral Counselor certified by the American Association for Sex Addiction Therapy (AASAT), I use proven recovery techniques to help men address the real issues beneath their addiction and experience the noble, authentic manhood that God has called them to.
I don't use a “just pray more” approach. Prayer and spiritual growth matter deeply, but lasting change requires a clear recovery plan, honest reflection, effective tools, and the courage to confront the deeper issues that accountability alone cannot resolve.
Still wondering, “Is This for Me?”
You stop for a while, but eventually return.
Accountability has become a cycle of failure and confession.
You hide the full extent of the behavior.
Your wife no longer knows what to believe.
You use pornography to escape stress, loneliness, anger, rejection, or shame.
You understand what Scripture teaches but feel unable to abide by it consistently.
The behavior has escalated in frequency, intensity, secrecy, or risk.
Previous programs helped temporarily but did not address the root issues.
